Facebook recently has made changes to their platform that will have massive implications for how car dealerships do business online.
Facebook is removing the ability for your vehicle catalog on your page to be synchronized with Facebook marketplace mid September. This means that the #1 place to be on Facebook is now no longer being intended as a tool for dealerships, but one targeted at private sellers. Facebook’s comment to us is that they now want dealers to begin doing advertising campaigns to place their inventory into marketplace via the new automotive inventory ads format.
The good news: We have rebuilt our platform so that your Facebook inventory can continue to be synchronized with your Facebook page, we have also integrated our websites to be compatible with automotive inventory ads.
The even better news: While dealership listings will disappear from marketplace, this is an opportunity to showcase your inventory in a much less cluttered marketplace. Ad placements in marketplace will leave you in a much more prominent position with less competition. We will also be pushing vehicles to much busier areas such as Instagram feeds and Facebook feeds as well.
